Sacred Questions from the Psalms

Sacred Questions from the Psalms is here.

Nine years ago, this started as a single prayer calendar idea, one Scripture a day so whoever used it could pray in God’s own words. It has grown into something much bigger than I ever expected — a series of guided journals, each one built entirely around a single question the psalmists asked. Not modern questions layered on top of ancient text, but their questions, answered the way they answered them: with lament, with remembering, with praise.

The first three are ready now.

Who is this King of Glory? walks through Psalm 24’s question and what it means to stand before God’s power, His character, His majesty. Not as facts about Him, but as a King worth pursuing, praising, and worshiping. [Link to buy]

Who is God besides the Lord? takes on Psalm 18’s declaration and sits with the uniqueness and sufficiency of the only One we can run to, because there is no other God. [Link to buy]

Has God forgotten to be merciful? sits inside the psalmist’s hardest question about mercy, the one I asked more than once during the years this series was being written, and traces the same path the psalmist walked, from doubt to remembering to praise. [Link to buy]

Each one is thirty days: a verse, room to sit with it, and space to bring what it stirs up honestly to God.

Journals four through six are already underway, and I hope to share them with you in the coming months.

This whole thing started at a dining room table, with a sixteen-year-old who told me it was worth finishing before I believed that myself. I wish he were here to see it. I think he would say it again — that this was a good idea.
