We are one week away from the end of July. Our nation has faced many challenges in the last four months. Unfortunately, it looks like there isn’t much of an end in sight. Difficult decisions have to be made and so many are exhausted from trying to make the right ones when regardless of the decision, there will be a group that doesn’t approve. Are you feeling weary from all of the negativity and division?
I am so grateful that God promises to give me the strength to tackle life. Let’s take a look at two scriptures that offer this promise.
“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.” Psalm 18:32
David could write those words in Psalms because He had experienced first-hand God-given strength. He knew weariness. He had fought Goliath. He had been pursued by Saul. He was a king who had to make many decisions for a nation. He also knew the power and might of the God we serve, because God had walked with David through every trial he faced.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31
This is one of my favorite passages. God will renew our strength, and not just enough to get by but enough that we will soar like eagles. Have you ever watched an eagle soar? It is beautiful!
God didn’t create us, drop us on earth and say, “Good luck.” He promises to be with us each step of the way and give us what we need.
As that feeling of weariness begins to seep in, remember these passages and allow God to give you the strength to face the challenges that life throws at you. He has fulfilled this promise to me so many times just like He did for David. He has strengthened me during incredibly difficult periods of life and on days when I just didn’t feel like I had it in me to get it all done. I have no doubt that God will continue to fulfill this promise everyday that I walk this earth. He will do the same for you!
